Television and radio host Jo Stanley and producer husband Darren McFarlane are hoping their renovated art deco Elsternwick house records a great sale.
Also a comedian, author and podcaster, Stanley is known for co-hosting Fox FM’s top-rating breakfast show alongside Matt Tilley from 2003-2013 and, later, a Gold FM show with funnyman Anthony ‘Lehmo’ Lehmann.
Stanley is now one of the presenters on Seven Network’s House of Wellness and has also appeared on Thank God You’re Here, The Project and Hughesy, We Have a Problem.

McFarlane has worked on many TV and web programs and movies, including filmmakers’ James Wan and Leigh Whannells’ short film Saw which kicked off their famous horror franchise.
Are among his other works are the 2006 Charlotte’s Web movie voiced by actors Julia Roberts, Oprah Winfrey and Dakota Fanning, and the Indigenous outback western High Ground starring Simon Baker and Jack Thompson.
Together, Stanley and McFarlane founded an online radio network for women, Broad Radio.
Set on 600sq m, the couple’s five-bedroom house at 34 Riddell Pde has a Spanish Mission-style facade, glam period-inspired entrance hall, formal sitting room and study.
The main bedroom suite boasts a dressing room, ensuite and large balcony.
A north-facing living and dining space looks out to the undercover alfresco entertaining area and leafy garden with an automated sprinkler system.
Two off-street car parks, a separate laundry with pullout drying racks, 26-panel solar power Electric Vehicle system, 50sq m of attic storage and reverse cycle airconditioning and heating complete the package.
Biggin & Scott Elsternwick’s Daniel Ashton declined to comment on the house’s owners but said the two-level property’s “renovation and restoration” had been done in sympathy with its original style.
“I think the extent of the art deco features throughout like the fireplaces, leadlight windows and twisted pylons in the arches is impressive,” Mr Ashton said.
“The return staircase has a beautiful iron handrail with marble tiles on the steps, it’s a grand feature.”
Mr Ashton said the reno included “three beautiful brand-new bathrooms and an updated kitchen”.
The property was ideal for entertaining, he added.
“There’s bi-fold cafe doors, so in summer you can open up the north and west side of the home,” he said.
The abode will be auctioned on August 26 with a $3.3m-$3.6m asking range.
