Godsmack to play Vancouver this fall as part of

[ad_1]

Massachusetts hard-rock vets Godsmack will play Abbotsford Centre on October 10, Live Nation has announced. The show is part of the ongoing world tour for the band’s eighth full-length, Lighting Up the Sky, which was released earlier this year.

That record finds Godsmack in a better place than in the past, with singer Sully Erna noting that he drew, as always, heavily on his own personal experiences during the writing. Before beginning work on Lighting Up the Sky, Sully discussed his creative process.

“I don’t know what to talk about. I have no content,” he told SiriusXM“s Trunk Nation.“I don’t know what my lyrics are gonna sound like. I have nothing. I’m bored. I’m not depressed. I’m not mad. Before, when I was mad, I had so many things to write about. Now I’m not mad anymore. I don’t know how to write songs sometimes when I’m not upset or emotional about something.”

And after the album’s release, he told the internet radio platform Audacy that it is “really based on my life, my entire career, the journey that I took from the time I began through all the ups and downs… all the way to appreciating my band again, getting over those hurdles, having so much respect and love for those guys.”

Tickets are available via artist presale tomorrow (July 19), with general public sales starting at 10 on Friday (July 21).
