INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA: Rob Sexton, a beloved comedian renowned for his contributions to ‘The Bob & Tom Show’, has died. According to the Indianapolis Star, he was 52.
Sexton was best known for his portrayal of the character Donnie Baker on the show. His family announced the sad news on Facebook on Saturday, July 22.

‘We will remember him with love and gratitude
“It is with immense sadness that we let everyone know that Ron Sexton passed away yesterday. He was Donnie Baker to most of you, but Ron and Dad to us. Please respect our privacy at this time and pray for our family,” Sexton’s family wrote on Facebook.

The official Twitter account of ‘The Bob & Tom Show’ also issued a statement confirming Sexton’s death. The statement read, “We are sad to confirm that Ron Sexton, longtime member of the ensemble cast of “The Bob & Tom Show”, died Friday in Ohio while on tour with his stand-up comedy show. Ron was known by millions of listeners of “The Bob & Tom Show” for the indelible comedic characters he played on-air – including Donnie Baker, Kenny Tarmac, and Floyd the Trucker, as well as his spot-on celebrity impersonations. Ron was a much-loved colleague and friend, and we will miss him greatly. We send our sincerest condolences to his family and friends. He made many, many people happy during his more than 20 years with “The Bob & Tom Show,” and we will remember him with love and gratitude.”

Who was Ron Sexton?
Born and raised in Indianapolis, Sexton was passionate about comedy and baseball. During his time at Franklin Central High School, he engaged with the school’s radio station as a baseball commentator. His net worth was estimated to be $2M.
In 2005, Sexton introduced his famous character, Donnie Baker, on ‘The Bob & Tom Show’. Donnie Baker was known for sharing humorous anecdotes about the boat he always seemed to have for sale, and his appearances were marked with catchphrases such as “State law!” and “I swear to God.”
